I used to think that awareness (realizing what is going on, mindfulness) and gratitude for what is going on(which may be difficult at times) were the keys to successful and enjoyable living but now I am beginning to wonder if compassion should be added to the list. Many people are experiencing suffering of one kind or another, some physical some mental. Relating to these people does not necessarily require helping or fixing fixing them. But maybe just having empathy and compassion for their suffering might be a contribution.
